Aims and Objectives

Our principle aim is to provide a range of high quality clinical (treatment and diagnostic) services to patients in a community setting. Some of these services have been provided in a hospital setting but we are now providing them closer to patient’s homes offering a choice of locations and a shorter waiting time.

We will do this by linking together local GPs and practices to :

facilitate the moving of services into the community

work with all other providers (Royal United Hospital, Virgincare, SWASFT, B&NES local authority and others)

work more closely with each other to review care quality, share support and clinical services and to foster an environment in which Primary Care can flourish and adapt to meet the future needs of the community and the NHS

We will ensure these services are provided to a high quality standard through our rigorous governance structure by regular monitoring of the clinical outcomes, adherence to national standards and regular patient feedback.

We will ensure that patients are treated equitably regardless of background or ability, in safe and pleasant environments

We will provide healthcare to the whole population and create a partnership between patient and health professional which ensures mutual respect, holistic care and continuous learning and training

Our organisation is a not-for-profit Community Benefit Society that is owned by its members who include all local General Practitioners and General Practices as well as our staff and members of the public. By linking all these groups together and by obtaining regular feedback from our service users and practice patient-participation groups we aim to provide and shape our services in a way that best suits the needs of the local population.

Our aims also include:

Improving Clinical Governance and Evidence based practice

Improving Clinical and non-clinical risk management

Improving the environment and capacity

Improving vigilance for unforeseen emergencies and events

Optimising performance against key targets and core standards

Recruiting, retaining and developing a motivated and skilled workforce

Developing and enhancing management and workforce performance

Ensuring robust Information and Technology governance standards
